Acupuncture can be used at any point in the Running injury or recovery process
Too many runners develop serious conditions because they run through the pain, even though they’re actually injured and needing to rest.
The best option is to treat it right away, minimizing the long term damage and making healing quicker.
But even chronic pains are treated with the help of acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, and bodywork therapies. The nagging running pains that won’t go away don’t have to be permanent. (such as knee pain as shown in these three studies »)
Every condition is different, so we start by identifying the true root of the situation. Even “runner’s knee” can actually be several different types of pain, all with different causes. And each of these causes can actually have a root cause that’s deeper than the obvious.
If it was obvious, you would have already solved it, right?
Taking into account the specific nature and mechanism of the injury, a detailed treatment plan is developed for every person. The plan generally includes acupuncture, bodywork and laser acupuncture (cold laser). Every person and injury is different and unique so every treatment is individualized.
Here is a list of conditions in which acupuncture can be utilized. If the condition you are dealing with is not listed, that does not mean acupuncture can’t help. There are many more conditions and injuries I have treated that are not listed below.

Studies:
Acupuncture is effective for treating chronic pain.
A recent study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine reveals acupuncture being more effective for chronic pain than “sham acupuncture,” which is a placebo version of acupuncture. The study included almost 18,000 individuals and studied the effect of acupuncture on chronic osteoarthritis, back, headaches and shoulder pain. “ The scientists concluded that the results of the analysis demonstrated that the specific effect of needling at true acupuncture points was statistically superior to sham needling. The authors also concluded that acupuncture was an effective and reasonable treatment option for the conditions evaluated.”
